How cool is this oversized chalk board?! @palletclubgippsland have a pop up site at Warragul Farmers Market where they display furniture by allowing market goers to sit on it.
Pallet Club, a social enterprise reuses discarded wooden pallets left out the front of shops or donated which are collected and then transformed into saleable items by people who are unemployed, who are learning skills in carpentry.
The Pallet Club runs in four areas — Warragul, Morwell, Wonthaggi and, most recently, Bairnsdale — every six months taking up to 100 Work for the Dole participants, aiming to transform 100 pallets into 100 saleable items.
The club is just one of nine programs Pallet Club offers through Barefoot Pathways Transitional Training Centre, a social enterprise established in 2016 with the help of government grants.
The centre has 10 facilitators or trainers and takes up to 300 participants every six months, aiming to find creative ways of teaching skills to those wanting to enter the workforce.
